Because life is better when your dog can come along.
Imagine sitting on a brewery patio on a Saturday afternoon, cold drink in hand, your dog relaxed at your feet while the world walks by. No lunging. No embarrassment. No white-knuckling the leash.
That is what Canines at Cafes is all about.
Canines at Cafes is a small group experience that takes your dog's training into the real world. We go to breweries, coffee shop patios, parks, greenways, and Charlotte's best dog-friendly outdoor spaces.
This is not a basic obedience class. This is about building the kind of confidence and real-world skills that let you and your dog actually enjoy being out together.

Every group begins with a private one-on-one assessment to confirm your dog has the foundation skills needed to participate safely and successfully. From there you join a small group of no more than 5 dogs total for 6 Saturday sessions — noon to 1pm — rain or shine — at carefully chosen Charlotte locations.
Spring and fall cohorts only. Space is extremely limited.
Local brewery patios
Coffee shop outdoor patios
Shopping and Outdoor places like Optimist Hall,
The Metropolitan, Camp North End, The Rail Trail etc.
Charlotte parks and greenways
To keep the experience positive and safe for every dog and guardian in the group your dog should be able to:
Walk on a leash without constant pulling
Sit and down on cue
Offer attention to you in mild distractions
Recover reasonably after mild stress
NOTE: Dogs who are reactive or aggressive are not appropriate for this program.
Our Reactive Dog Training program may be a better fit.
